I's Married Now...

Hello... I know it's been awhile... but I will try my best to do better... =b so this past weekend me and my cohabiting partner finally tied the knot. lol... We got married in Vegas and some of our friends and family were able to share this special moment with us. The boys had a great time, especially when they were in the pool. Derek had a chance to get wet too after the wedding. They loved it!! I think I'm going to pay for them to take swimming classes. Miles wanted to stick it out in the pool while I took Christopher to the restroom. I couldn't let him because he doesn't know how to swim. Miles said that he can take care of himself and "if I drown, revenge me" lol... them boys are keepers... =b They had a blast watching their mom and dad get married. It was a tiring weekend but we got through it and we came home as husband and wife... =b

I also want to tell you about some of the things that have happened while I've been away... We went to our Friends' Baby's Baptism, We went to TJ with Mars' parents and Carmen and Jose, and I've had an uncle pass away(My dad's brother-in-law)... My condolences go out to my Aunt Chippie, Cousin Katie, Cousin Kathy and her family. It's a big loss for the family and his memory will live on through them and all of us. I also want to mention that it seems with death, also comes life... there have been two deaths in my family this year and I believe their will be about 7 births in my family this year!!!!! 2 on my mom's side and 5 on my dad's side... which seems odd because I've got cousins galore on my momma's side and not so many on my dad's side... so you would've believed the opposite to be true... So although there will be 5 births on my dad's side, they are no way near catching up to my momma's side of the family... just thought I'd throw that out there... =b

2008 Glendale Quilt Show

Luja, originally uploaded by roxie_jc.

So me and my momma did end up going to the quilt show about, what, 2 weekends ago? We had a great time... We saw lots of quilts and visited the many vendors who delighted in our overspending... =b I only took a picture of a couple quilts that caught my eye. The picture of the turtle above is from a Noah's Ark quilt. I love turtles, so I had to get a close up. I'm also a little more interested in alligators because I am part Creek and my family is from the alligator clan.

Sorry I didn't post sooner but I have a Casio Camera and I couldn't find the cable to download the pics onto my computer. Mars, my soon to be hubby, found a substitute for me. So, Yes!! I get to post pics again... =b

I also went with my momma to a shop hop this past Friday... and boy, did it wear me out!!! I did have fun though, and I saw lots of stuff I wanna spend my moola on... after we got home I was able to rest for about half an hour before my softball game... We lost... =( but we did pretty good... so hopefully next time I'll have some better news for you...

Here is my family. I graduated from CSULB in the summer of 2007. This is the most recent picture of us as a group and I thought it looked pretty good too... =b
My boys are Derek (1 year old), Miles (6 years old), and Christopher (7 years old, at that time). My baby daddy's name is Manuel, AKA Mars... We are getting married, FINALLY, next month in April. I know, I know... took long enough. But we wanted to wait til I finished school and that has now happened. So we are preparing for the big day next month... Okay, you got me there too... little preparation has gone into it. We reserved the chapel. Does that count for anything???? I am reserving the rooms this weekend. Now we have to figure out what we are going to wear.
Other Things Going On: I am working on several projects right now... I am learning new things and having fun too. I am working on sewing borders on a quilt I am working on. I am maybe a quarter of the way done working on crocheting a baby blanket. I am in the process of cutting out the pieces to a craft bag I will be making from a simplicity pattern. I also need to start quilting another quilt that I have safety pinned together. There's alot going on, but I'll get through it... =b I want to learn how to sew a binding onto a quilt. So far all I've done is sew the couple of quilts I've made almost completely shut and then turned it right side out. I want to learn the binding method because I think it looks nicer. My mom is taking a quilting class and I am learning from her. She bought me my first sewing machine this past Christmas, and that's why I have all of these projects now... The crocheting is for when I'm away from home and still make use of my free time.
My mother and I will be going to the Quilt Show in Glendale this weekend, so maybe I'll come back with a couple of pictures and a couple of goodies... =b
