Me and My Prized Possession... =b

Hello... I know it's been awhile... I am going to try to post more often... this is the beautiful doll quilt I received from mtnb on Flickr... I love turtles as you guys know and this doll quilt is just amazing... So far I've been in two doll quilt swaps and I've been lucky both times to receive quilts from two lovely ladies who both left me at a loss for words... ... ... the doll quilt I made has finally made it's way to my swap partner... I know now how to send it faster and at a flat rate... Thanks Bea!

I am joining a kids sewing bee online, if I joined in time... cross your fingers... =b should be fun... I'll let you know about that when the time comes...

I have been starting to buy more fabric but for different projects... Once I settle on one, I will show you my progress... Maybe soon I'll get started on my Indian Ladies...

About the fam bam... we all had a great Mothers Day at my in-laws... food galore... =b My two big boys made me a vase with flowers at school... too cute... and my 2 year old has got some personality... He's letting us know how things are supposed to get done around here... lol... love em...

Up to Date...

It's been awhile since my last post and I just wanna get you updated on what I've been up to... I was in our 2nd family Christmas Exchange, where about 9 of us make something and then do a gift exchange... We were all a little late, so our Christmas Exchange ended up happening in late January... =b That won't happen this year... We will set a date and there won't be any make up dates... Below is the quilt I made for our gift exchange... I say it's a Lakers Quilt... My sister is holding it up for me... Below is the BACK of the doll quilt I am making for the DQS6... I may show the front of it when I actually finish and send it off... I don't wanna give out too much info about it, but the back kinda gives you an idea of what the front may look like... I actually just completed binding it today and will have to get to work on the quilt label...

My family is also supposed to be trying to work on some Indian Women for an Exchange too... of course I haven't started... I bought a few fabrics to work with, but now I need to get started... and there's a couple more projects I wanna get started on... once I do get started, I will start to post more often... thanks for taking the time out to read my little blog... =b

Time Sure Files...

When You're So Busy!! Well it almost seems like a lifetime since my last post. I posted some pics to give you an idea of some of the things that have been happening in my life. We went to California Adventure with our boys and my little cousin. They had a blast, although the Tower of Terror scared the living daylights outta them... lol
We went to the Barnum & Bailey Brothers Circus at the Honda Center for our friend's daughter's 5th birthday... They Loved it!!!

The Birthday Girl is the one with the Bunny Ears.... =b

My Grandma Carrie passed away (my daddy's momma)... Here is my dad with his middle grandson (my boy), Miles... They are watching as she is being lowered. We love her and she will be missed.

My Boys started their first season of Football!! Miles plays Flag and Christopher is in Tackle. They have learned so much and they are making all kinds of good friends... =b

I entered a Blog Give Away and I WON!!! My first win. You can probably guess how excited I was to win this pretty doll quilt from SheltonDHW . Go ahead and peek at her blog!! Oh Yeah, and now I have two doll quilts in my collection! I'll be happy when football season is over cuz then I'll be able to get my hands on more crafting... =b

So I tried to fill you in all at once... I know there's somethings I missed, like so many babies being born around me... and no, I haven't caught that bug... Three may be good enough for me. We just may have to wait around and see! And I'll try to post more frequently. Thanks for reading!

I am almost done with putting together the front of my quilt. Just a little more sewing to go. I'll have some pics up soon too.

I hope everyone had a great 4th of July. I know my boys did. I took that week off and we went to the beach, to our friend's pool, to their grandparents... I went with my mom and a couple of aunt's (and a cousin) to Fresno to pick up our cousin Benny. I would have liked to have gotten my cousin Mont too... but it was a no go. His dad said they had made plans already. It was a good trip though...

Choosing the right fabric

I wanted it to be more of an earthy range of fabrics... I hope I did good... I guess time will only tell... =b And I hope it's not too dark for my partner's taste... reminds me of fall... I'll take a couple more sneak peak pics as I make my way towards progress, but I don't want to give anything away...

in other news, I am almost completed with my friend's baby boy quilt... You know, the one with the blues, yellows and greens? I just need to complete sewing the binding on and then I'm done... I need to try and make a label for my quilt. I've made 4 completed quilts, given two away and have not made a quilt label... Now Is The Time!! as my friend, Carmen, likes to say... (but that's when we are gambling)... lol... =b
